Preparing for Christmas Challenge: Eating Area

This week, we will be working in our eating areas.

Taste and see that the Lord is good;
    blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Psalm 34:8

Whether you have a designated dining room or an eat in portion of your kitchen, this is where we will be cleaning. For some of you, this may be a much bigger task--stay positive!

First: take a picture and share it with the other ladies in the group!

Now it's time to declutter. Gather bags or boxes to sort through trash, donations, keep in this space and belongs in another space items. Start with one surface like the table. Work in short intervals if needed a little each day.

Once you have sorted through everything, take the trash out and put the donations in your car to get rid of the next time you are in town.

Then it's time to clean. Wash windows, baseboards, trim, and switch plates. Vacuum and mop your floors. Wipe down tables, chairs and other furniture. Don't forget light fixtures! Make everything shine :)

After you are done cleaning, begin organizing and decorating. Keep working on that list of items you would like to look for. Maybe you would like a piece of artwork for this room or bins to store your nice dishes. Put it on your list and keep an eye out at thrift stores and sales.

As you decorate, keep in mind the feeling you want this room to have. How do you want your family to fellowship here?

I hope you all have a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing your pictures!
